Free Online Vedic Astrology Reading — Janam Kundali & Birth Chart Analysis

Kundality builds your Janam Kundali (Vedic birth chart) from your date, time and place of birth, then explains it in plain English — planetary positions, houses, nakshatras, Vimshottari Dasha timing and yogas — grounded in classical Jyotish (Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika), not vague sun-sign horoscopes.

How is a Janam Kundali (birth chart) calculated?

Your birth date, exact time and place fix the positions of the nine grahas (planets) and the ascendant (Lagna) against the sidereal zodiac using the Lahiri ayanamsa. These fall into 12 houses (bhavas) and 27 nakshatras, forming the D1 (Rasi) chart — the foundation of every Vedic reading. Prefer just the chart? Use the free Vedic Kundali generator.

What is Vimshottari Dasha timing?

Vedic astrology times events through dashas — planetary periods running in a fixed 120-year cycle, keyed to the Moon's nakshatra at birth. Your current Mahadasha and Antardasha (major and sub-period) show which planets are active now, and a reading interprets the promise of the chart through the running dasha and current transits (gochara). See your active period instantly with the free Vimshottari mahadasha calculator.

Nakshatra, planetary strength & divisional charts

Beyond the main chart, the 27 nakshatras add texture to the Moon and Lagna; Shadbala measures each planet's real strength; the Ashtakavarga calculator scores how favourable transits are house by house; and divisional charts (vargas) such as the D9 Navamsa (marriage, dharma) and D10 Dasamsa (career) refine specific areas of life.

Frequently asked questions

Is a Vedic reading based on my Moon sign or Sun sign?

Vedic astrology is Moon-sign (Rashi) and ascendant (Lagna) based, using the sidereal zodiac — so your Vedic signs often differ from Western sun-sign horoscopes.

Do I need my exact birth time?

Yes. The ascendant and house positions shift every ~2 hours, and dasha timing depends on the Moon's precise nakshatra, so an approximate time gives only an approximate chart.

Is the reading really free?

You can generate your full birth chart and begin your reading for free — no payment required to get started.

Which classical texts is it based on?

The engine follows Parashari principles from Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, with Phaladeepika and Saravali — not generic pop-astrology.

How much does a reading cost, and what is a token?

Each reading uses 1 token, covering one full session — the reading plus reasonable follow-up questions while the session is active. When you sign up we may include some free tokens, depending on current promotions. Tokens are non-transferable and have no cash value. A reading is non-refundable once it is delivered. The only exception is a technical failure that stops the reading generating — the token is usually returned automatically, and if it is not, email [email protected] with a screenshot and we will review it.
